Chris Martin is a hack!

A hot, soulful, inspired hack.

Chris Martin, Lead Singer of Coldplay

He obviously ripped this guy off. He's older. He's been singing Fix You since Chris was a stubble-faced zygote:

Saw that on Stereogum this AM.

Last week, at Pube-lix, they had a new sign out:

Which reminds me of this episode of TV Funhouse. Go to about 5 Minutes and 30 seconds and you'll see why Boar's Head meats reminds me of this very special hawaiian episode. The whole thing is worth a watch! Why do they cancel all the good shows?!

Typographic Irony

We got a submission from Andre...
Hey Joe,

Thought you might wanna know that even Steel Restaurant & Lounge knows a good font when it sees one. Check out the clean, understated treatment of their logo with hard-as-nails font Papyrus in place. Nothing says stability, reliability and durability like Papyrus--and Steel understands that!

I think the emphatic "Never Settle." tagline is really what pulls all of this together. I'm pretty sure it's as much a comment on your eating experience at Steel as it is a warning to choose your fonts carefully when communicating your brand.
Settle for anything less than Papyrus? Never.
It's almost like a styrofoam peanut manufacturer doing it's logo in Copperplate. Thank you, Andre!

Hide Your Babies

Why? Cuz Brandon sent in something:
Here's enough papyrus to kill a baby:

In an unrelated note, I uploaded 5 consecutive video clips from a Silver Jews concert I attended in Asheville North Carolina back at the beginning of the year. It was the first official Silver Jews tour and they played great. Top that off with the guy at the Grey Eagle trading my footage for the venues audio off the mixing board! The video is my shaky, liquor-ridden hand held but the audio is great. Check them out:

All your fridge are belong to us

A new submitter, Ana wrote:
AKA: try not to choke on these!
I'm not sure what's worse: the fact that they used outlined papyrus throughout this mess, or that they forgot (I hope this was a mistake anyway) to screen back the photo. In any case, I'll take the "Who's your Daddy" flash-fried Cornish hen and the Salad of Mirliton please. With a side of overdone Papyrus....

And in case that's not enough, It's Yoga redux! Because yoga just isn't yoga without the tangy zip of Papyrus.

:) Ana

Awesome stuff. Yoga might need a Papyrus intervention. It started small. Yoga was a casual Papyrus user. Soon it was using Papyrus all over the page, blacking out and shamefully waking up next to Comic Sans or Marker Felt. And yoga once had so much promise.

Oh by the way. Ana is quite the shutterbug with a slew of cool work at her site. Check it out!

Study Hard. Harder! HARDER!

Seth writes:
My niece was doing he homework over at my house and I noticed that her teacher used some Papyrus to jazz up her assignment sheet. It just
says....Hey kids! Homework is fun with Papyrus!

I can't imagine a better reason to stay in school.
