More Superstar Papyrus

Well maybe not "super".

Not very starry either...
"Fortune Teller is a horror film about a girl, Esmeralda, who buys a fortune telling machine at an online auction. The mechanical puppet inside this machine turns out to be possessed by an evil spirit who turns Esmeralda’s life into a living hell, landing her in jail and even having her committed to a mental institution before we reach the shocking and unexpected conclusion of the story!"
You can see the website here. I'd say look for it in theaters but
Q: Will this film be shown in theaters?

A: No, this film will be targeted at the Home Video and Movie Rental markets.
But it sounds sooooo good!

Insurance (hearts) Papyrus

The insurance industry wants in on that Papyrus. Here's a site I came across today. The picture appears to be of a girl who is all "thumbs up" now that "Claims for Free" got her a shit-ton of money suing the people who caused the loss of her left arm. I like to think she was massaging the prostate of an elephant who had an anal muscle spasm. I'm not sure who she would then have sued but I'll assume the elephant has become independently wealthy remembering things for money.

But with all that's going on on that page I just wanna have a peek at their design standards manual. I bet there's a lot to learn.

Hey Honey!

Have you heard of this place called Starbucks? It's a coffee place. Anyway, they offer honey to their patrons and guess what...

Papyrus! And a shoddy printing of it if I ever saw one. Shameful.

On an unrelated note, I finally got around to looking up "mendoza". It's a city in Argentina or the name of the explorer who founded it, the first colony in Buenos Aires. It was on my mind because of a band called the Mendoza Line. They're one of my favorite bands and they do, in fact, rock. Check out the song Catch a Collapsing Star (mp3). It's the song that turned me onto them and there are more here.

Tea, in general, (hearts) Papyrus

We showed you how Arizona (hearts) Papyrus over a year ago but here's a refresher:

But now it looks like Bigelow wants a piece of that Papyrus action:

It looks to be part of a Papyrus-addled new branding campaign because I buy a lot of tea and the packaging was not always in the world's greatest font*. And it's all over their herbal varieties.

Keep it consistent now.

But I have a feeling some Art (or Creative) Directors out there might be a little interested in the fact that for each tea, the little whore that is Papyrus is sleeping with two other teas! Snapple wants a piece now too!

And on a separate note, back at the beginning of the year I shared a Muppets clip and now it seems there is a bit of Muppet resurgence for whatever reason. I saw Kermit singing NIN's Hurt among others, and most recently there was this:

It's like watching any of the other onlide videos I watch with a lot less masturbating and more crying.

*Papyrus automatically voted number one font by public acceptance and frequency or use- sort of like the Windows OS or Fall Out Boy

Stylin' Papyrus

This is an ad out of GQ Magazine that Brandon found. It's for a cologne that claims itself "twice as lucky as the leading brand".

There are a few problems here...

• what's the leading brand of cologne?
• are they suggesting "lucky" to mean the sex version of lucky
• do I only get lucky with Asian pairs
• do they have to be female (or alive)
• I don't wear cologne rendering all of the aforementioned moot

And check it out... It looks a little like it might have booze in it. I'm sure whether you drink it or wear it, it'll mess you up!

Behind the scenes with papyrus

Papyrus embodies hollywood (or vice versa) on screen and off. If you take a minute to check out the behind-the-scenes bonus material on the DVD of Lemony Snicket's story, "A Series of Unfortunate Events", you'll see Papyrus making a cameo.

You've come a long way, Fire Marshall Bill...
