the idiocy of idiocy

This story about burning books was on digg today:

The whole thing is just riddled with design no-nos.

And just as an aside, some of you know I was really pullin' for Ron Paul in the primaries. He ended up getting a raw-deal in the press and the whole thing proved to be inspiring, and frustrating, at once but it all ended, and I had to face it, and deal with it.

I'm not going to support this argument here but, Hillary Clinton is being an absolute and total power-hungry bitch. She's been deceptive and devisive through the whole last leg of the democratic campaign and now, when people want to presume Barack is the nominee, she wraps her iron clad cunt around the fishing line thread of a chance she barely has to stay in a race she already lost. It's clearly selfish and serves only as a distraction.

Papyrus pwns terrorism

Jason sent something along:
Hey!

Found this picture:
on this webpage:

http://www.kauz.com/news/18433304.html

Also attached it to this email. Thought it was a particularly funny context for Papyrus to be applied.

Hope things are well! It's been a while since I last submitted.

- Jason (Atlanta, GA)
Thanks a lot Jason. That's a pretty awesome graphic.

Oh and in a totally unrelated note, I made a really stupid Obama video. Seriously idiots. Obama is not a terrorist or a Muslim. I'm looking at you white FOX news viewers. Anyway, the mouth animates awfully but you get the idea:

rough rider papyrus

Mark writes:
Our art department designs stuff for Harley Davidson. Yesterday we went to the store to get ideas and see what to (and not to) do.

That's a good philosophy until you have to buy new wheels. You might smoke 'em a little less. Anyhow, thanks much Mark!

Iraq and Sasquatch ♥'s Papyrus

An Iraqi blog I ran across had this:

It's kind of an interesting blog.

Then, the lovely and talented Jami P sent this guy in:

Alabama is #8 on that list.

In an unrelated note, this is the song that plays continuously in my head:

GDUSA ♥ 's Papyrus

From Papyrus creator, Chris Costello:
I received the Graphic Design USA American Package Design Awards issue this morning and as I was thumbing through, I found one,
then two,
then (oh yes...)
three winning entries that used our beloved font. (see attached).

I thought you might want to place them on your blog.

I sure would! Chris, I think we know who the real star is here. It's not coffee, oatmeal, or diapers. The Graphic Design USA American Package Design Awards are obviously trying to get in Papyrus's pants... or something.

I don't know. Thanks for sending, Chris.

Lamparts... Lykke Li

My overlord Justin found this in his business card collection and was kind enough to scan the livin' shizbiscuits out of it.

Lamp Arts Inc: We're the lamp champs!

What's that? Of course it's on their website.

Stereogum has been featuring a lot of great news and posts on some of the artists at SXSW. One thing that caught my attention was a post about Lykke Li. As simple as it seems, this video for "Little Bit" was a lot of fun.

Go to stereogum's page for an mp3 of that

RickRoll'D

Evidentially, you'd ideally like not to be RickRoll'd.

It's like a giant, white land mine of annoying, 80's synth-pop.

I can't tell you how many times I've tried to click on a link I was genuinely interested in, only to find that video on the other side.

I'm such a sucker.

Anyway, some douche has his take on it here. (scroll down a little)

Speaking of roll, here's a few rolls of outdoor flooring:

Selling flooring? Use Papyrus.

fo the love of paper

Janet sent us some Papyrus and sends along this note:
for love of god... have some respect for the "craft" that went into creating papyrus:-) This is what happens when you encounter a slashy.... architect/graphic designer:-)

Putting her best face forward, Papyrus welcomes all.

Julia Crawford knows at least two things. One, Papyrus rulz (with a "z"). And two, sharing is caring. She used it on Micheal and Anne Smith's wedding invitations:

Those lucky so-and-sos!

Thanks fer sending, Janet!
